Tribal TANF Feedback Reports

Record Description

Accurate reporting is essential for understanding program performance and meeting federal reporting requirements. This Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Feedback Report from the TANF Data Portal Knowledge Center explains how to use three key feedback reports to review the completeness and accuracy of program data and better understand how a Tribe's Work Participation Rate is calculated. Tribal TANF staff can use these reports to identify missing or inconsistent data, pinpoint reporting trends throughout the year, and address issues that may affect participation rate calculations. By helping Tribal TANF programs strengthen data quality and make informed improvements, this guide supports more accurate reporting and stronger program management.

Q & A: Counting and Verifying Hours of Work Participation

Record Description

This Administration for Children and Families policy guidance webpage addresses common challenges in how Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) programs count and verify participation hours. For TANF practitioners, this is a practical tool for resolving day-to-day questions that arise in case management, particularly around what qualifies as countable activity and how to document it consistently. It supports more uniform decision-making across TANF staff, reduces ambiguity in case processing, and helps ensure families are treated consistently regardless of which staff member is handling their case.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Data Reporting for Work Participation

Record Description

The Office of Management and Budget information collection outlines how states are required to collect and report work participation data. For Temporary Assistance for Needy Families practitioners, the work participation rate is more than a reporting requirement; it shapes how program performance is measured and understood at the federal level. These resources can help staff understand what data matters, why accuracy is critical, and how reporting practices influence funding accountability and program evaluation. The collection is particularly relevant for teams responsible for data systems, reporting, and program integrity.
