How Equity Helps Lift All Boats

As federal funding is distributed to support communities in recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, cities have an unprecedented opportunity to pursue inclusive and equitable recoveries. Communities of color have been disproportionately harmed by the COVID-19 crisis. This fact sheet presents research showing that if recovery funds are not invested inclusively, they can reinforce rather than reduce inequities. Much of the federal funds invested across the country are flexible, allowing localities the freedom to pursue creative recovery solutions.
