Research-To-Practice Brief

Gender Segregation in Training Programs and the Wage Gap

This issue brief from Mathematica Policy Research discusses the under representation of women in skilled-trade jobs throughout the United States, and its contribution to the gender wage gap. Using data from a sample of Registered Apprenticeship, Trade Adjustment Assistance, and Job Corps participants, the study also suggested ways to increase training and employment opportunities for women in these fields, and thereby increase their pay.
