DC Food Economy Study

This ICF study assesses and analyzes the food economy in the District of Columbia and how its rapid growth could provide more inclusive opportunities for all city residents. Beyond an industry sector and economic impact analysis, the study examines workforce development opportunities to fill major labor force gaps and expand career pathways in the District’s food economy. In particular, the study highlights how workforce development opportunities targeting lower-income individuals in the District can help fill labor force gaps and improve employment outcomes for this population.
