Are there promising practices regarding a formal, systematic, and/or significant outreach/PR efforts by a TANF agency either alone or in conjunction with their CSE partners to promote paternity establishment and its benefits to the child?
Do we know of any examples of a so-called "Presumptive Maternal Custody Law" in operation in any State, as it may affect paternity establishment?
We have a question related to one of the options available to States for use of TANF funds. Federal TANF funds and State MOE funds can be used for Mentoring Children of Prisoners (MCP) and positive youth development. We would appreciate if you would let us know if any of your States are currently using Federal TANF funds or State MOE funds for mentoring and after-school programs for school-age children, as well as positive youth development services for adolescents. We would appreciate responses by August 29, 2005.
We are comparing the maximum TANF cash benefit to a family of three, by state. Does anyone know where we can find that information for each state?
To my knowledge one of the important changes of the Personal Responsibility and Work opportunities Act (PRWORA) was that the new Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, which replaced AFDC, enabled the federal states to decide whether to refuse further payments to single parent who bear another child during the time they receive social assistance. Is there a list available which states decided to do so or could you recommend any other source to find out which states make use of this possibility and which do not? Thank you very much.
Can a Head Start Program use volunteer services from families receiving TANF as part of the program's non federal match (in-kind)?
What do you do when your clients no show for set appointments?
Are there TANF programs that offer/make available micro-enterprise loans to their clients?
Are there long-term (more than 30 days) residential services/halfway houses available for people who are wheelchair bound?
Do any states require minor children to attend school as a condition of eligibility for TANF benefits? We are not referring to minors who are a head of household, but minor children on someone else's grant. School attendance is not required for these children by Federal law or regulation, as it is for a minor head of household. However, states can include school attendance by minor children as a requirement in the Individual Responsibility Plan for the adult head of household.
