The Peer TA Network would like to know what States are doing to equip TANF participants with Adult Basic Education/General Educational Development opportunities?

A representative from the New Hampshire Department of Health & Human Services, Division of Family Assistance would like to know if States count online courses, distance learning or other remote computer-based learning for participation hours for TANF clients in either the Vocational Education Training or Education Directly Related to Employment Activity? If so, how do States verify/supervise hours?

A representative from the Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services would like to know what other states conducted research comparing career services offered to TANF clients and staff education/training?

A representative from the New Hampshire Department Health and Human Services would like to know if any other State mandates school attendance (K-12) for children on TANF cash assistance? If it is a part of program requirements, how is attendance monitored?

A representative from Nevada Division of Welfare and Supportive Services would like to know if other States in-house or contracted services for employment and training programs?

A representative from the Washington State Department of Social & Health Services would like to know if States have research or current data on the impact of the digital divide upon TANF and low-income youth? Specifically, is there research that might address access to home computers and the Internet for welfare youth?
