This compendium from the Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation was put together to provide information about available measures to assess executive functioning to be used by researchers, child development specialists, field staff, and other relevant professionals. A total of 44 commonly used measures are assessed and categorized to enhance the field's knowledge.

This brief, circulated by ASPE, details the methodology used in the report Substance Use, the Opioid Epidemic, and Child Welfare Caseloads: A Mixed Methods Study. Methods utilized included statistical modeling, geospatial analysis, and qualitative interviewing and analysis. Research centered on six questions, including exploring the relationship between substance use prevalence and child welfare caseloads, how parental substance misuse affects caseloads and outcomes, and whether opioid misuse impacts welfare differently than other types of substance use.

This study from the NYC Center for Innovation through Data Intelligence provides information on the housing trajectories of youth exiting foster care or other residential programs for homeless youth and their met and unmet service needs. The study used administrative data and takes a look at factors predicting future service use and implications for this data for future work with youth in transition.

This brief from the National Research Center on Hispanic Children and Families examines the take-up rates for child care and early education for Hispanic families. Historically, Hispanic families have lower rates of usage of programs targeted to assist low-income families such as child care assistance, and this brief uses research to determine why this is the case for child care assistance and what the implications are for these findings.

This resource from the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse highlights a rural community partnership between a fatherhood program and local child support agency. In this case study, authors describe the development of a partnership in Merced County, California and lessons learned.

This report from MDRC details the implementation study conducted for the PACE Center for Girls in Florida, a program that provides academic and social services to at-risk girls aged 11 to 18. There are 19 program locations across the state, and services are delivered with a trauma-sensitive lens that seeks to set girls on a positive track away from negative outcomes such as involvement with the juvenile justice system. The report details the program model, participant characteristics, and implementation results.

This working paper from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development explores the effect of employment advancement and anti-poverty strategies when used with those who resided in subsidized rental housing. The findings were mixed, showing some subgroups benefited from the interventions, while others experienced no effect.

This brief from the Urban Institute analyzes young adults who progressed through initial career pathway programs to eventually secure middle-skill jobs in their industries. Though Career Pathway programs are a promising model, there is less data available about workers who move past the initial entry level job and on to higher wages. The findings from the data used for this brief show that obtaining more than one credential can support career advancement.
