The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Unemployment Insurance has issued a set of resources on reemployment services that are available for unemployment insurance claimants and employer recruitment services. These tools and strategies for supporting service delivery include My Reemployment Plan, Pathway to Reemployment Framework, and information about Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments Grants.

This Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation report covers results of the second round of the Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) Program from the beginning of the Program (September 30, 2015) through its fourth year (September 29, 2019). This assessment examines the characteristics of HPOG 2.0 program participants, the activities in which they engaged, and their employment outcomes.

The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration published this Training and Employment Notice for stakeholders in the public workforce system to help delineate elements of credential programs and to identify credentials that support skill acquisition for quality in-demand jobs that meet business community needs. The Notice also includes four attachments covering credential resources, credit for prior learning, some models of existing industry-recognized stackable credentials, and references.

The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration hosted a session entitled "WIOA Youth Program COVID-19 Session" on May 4, 2020, attended by nearly 1,700 youth workforce professionals nationwide. Attendees shared their solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing youth during COVID-19. This document highlights attendees’ input shared during the webinar.

The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration has compiled a list of resources from the 24 Youth CareerConnect grantees on program management strategies. These resources cover case management as well as monitoring and participant files, sustainability of Youth CareerConnect partnerships, and other relevant guidance for programs addressing the needs of youth. Also included are data and general information about the Youth CareerConnect program, engagement strategies, and career and education strategies.

The Aspen Institute has developed a series of digital events entitled Conversations in Financial Security in Response to COVID-19: How to Triage, Recover, and Stabilize. Tenth in the series, this webinar on July 1, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET will highlight the importance of addressing employees’ financial challenges to ensure an equitable economic recovery.

The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration’s Division of Youth Services has produced a set of three webcasts to support the planning and implementation of WIOA youth programs. Webcast topics include: Employer Engagement; Partner Engagement (to include other non-employer stakeholders who offer supportive services and training to youth participants); and the Recruitment and Retention of Out-of-School Youth.

The National Association of Workforce Boards will host its annual conference as a virtual forum from June 29, 2020 to July 2, 2020. The forum will feature issue sessions, industry roundtables, workshops, and intensive technical assistance sessions with representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor and other partner Federal agencies. The U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration has compiled a set of resources to guide stakeholders in understanding the components of apprenticeship and creating and running a successful apprenticeship program. The resources include: Introduction to Apprenticeship: A Five-Part Toolkit; Building Registered Apprenticeship Programs: A Quick-Start Toolkit; Registered Apprenticeship 101 (a webinar series); Five Elements of Apprenticeship Expansion (includes lessons learned from state apprenticeship expansion); Registering Apprenticeship Programs: The Basics, Challenges, and Solutions; and Apprenticeship On-the-Job Learning FAQ Sheet.

This report highlights the MyGoals for Employment Success demonstration, an employment coaching program where participants are empowered to set and achieve goals by focusing on executive skills, which are the mental skills used to conduct tasks. These skills include stress tolerance, emotional control, time management, organization, perseverance, and mental flexibility. The use of executive skills affects how participants can navigate the labor market, acquire credentials, and work performance. The report presents findings on how the MyGoals model was operationalized and implemented among participants living in public housing in Baltimore, Maryland and Houston, Texas.
