JobLinks Employment Transportation Initiative, a project of the Community Transportation Association, aims at connecting affordable and reliable transportation-to-work solutions with workforce development agencies as well as other stakeholders. Primarily supported with funding from the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Department of Transportation, the initiative focuses on delivering services to low-income individuals as well as various special populations, such as: disabled, youth, veterans, and elderly workers.

Olmstead Decision and Welfare-to-Work Regional Meeting

The Olmstead Decision and Welfare-to-Work ACF Region IV Meeting was held on August 23-24, 2000, at The Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. More than 80 participants attended, including State Temporary Assistance For Needy Families (TANF) Directors, and Welfare-to-Work (WtW) administrators along with representatives from State Medicaid offices, and representatives of the Developmental Disabilities Network (State developmental disabilities councils, protection and advocacy agencies, and the university affiliated programs). The focus of this Regional meeting was to examine how the Olmstead Decision and Welfare-to-Work initiatives can be incorporated into each States’ Strategic Plan.

Learning Disabilities Strategies, Oregon

Record Description
In March 1999, the Welfare Peer TA Network hosted a workshop for the state of Oregon on learning disabilities strategies. Oregon identified learning disabilities as a major barrier to self-sufficiency, and as their caseload dropped, many participants were identified has having some type of learning disability. This meeting included partners to how to best identify learning disabilities and provide appropriate services to their participants.
