Domestic violence can have a wide range of effects on the education, training, and employment options for women. Specifically, women on welfare who are victims of sexual violence may have a harder time meeting program requirements. From the Center for Impact Research, this article summarizes lessons learned from the Kraft Domestic Violence Services Project, which investigated how domestic violence is a barrier to women’s training and employment and provides recommendations for the integration of domestic violence services into employment services agencies.

Additionally, it includes information on how the data can be used to aid people with disabilities through support services, including transportation, social activities, vocational rehabilitation, and housing.

The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), committed to improving employment outcomes for individuals with disabilities, established a Customized Employment initiative to build the capacity of workforce systems to serve all customers, specifically, those with disabilities. This resource provides strategies to assist all customers that may require additional assistance in reaching employment goals.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) received a Special Improvement Project Grant (SIP Grant) to implement a demonstration project to evaluate various strategies to achieve better outcomes for the child support program when working with low-income noncustodial parents. The project was implemented in collaboration with the Hennepin County Child Support Division (HCCSD). This report describes the project and findings.
