Youth Thrive Blueprint: Coaching Tool

This coaching tool provides supervisors with key questions, guidance, and ideas about how to help workers assess and support youth using the five Protective and Promotive Factors (youth resilience, having social connections, knowledge of adolescent development, concrete support in times of need, and cognitive and social-emotional competence.) The tool is organized by the five Protective and Promotive Factors that are the heart of the Youth Thrive Framework which draws upon research studies and findings on resilience, positive youth development, neuroscience, and trauma to identify what reduces the impact of negative life experiences and what increases the likelihood of healthy development, healing, and well-being for all youth. Strengthening these five factors is intended to reduce risk, increase well-being, and help young people reach their goals. In using the tool, supervisors can tailor service plans to each young person’s unique situation.
