The Rise of Single Fathers: A Ninefold Increase since 1960

Over the past several decades, men have been making up a growing share of single parent householders. In 1960, about 14% of single parent households were headed by fathers; today, almost 25% are headed by fathers. This report from the Pew Research Center analyzes this trend and the data about characteristics of these single-father households.
