Transportation has always been a problem for remote communities. Have any Tribal TANF or Workforce programs implemented a successful program for assisting participants with transportation barriers?

Check out floridaworks.greenride.com to see a web based carpool networking system to help people get to work or school. This may help rural residents get to common locations for work.

A representative from the Prowers County Department of Human Services in Colorado described that they partner with their local Rural County Bus Service, as well as provide bus passes to their TANF clients who need them for their families. The TANF clients are authorized to use the bus passes for work searches and appointments, food purchases, and to get to their places of employment.
