A Home for Every Child Dashboard
All 50 states have joined the Administration for Children and Families’ (ACF’s) A Home for Every Child (AH4EC) initiative, which aims to improve the availability of foster homes nationwide. ACF has now launched the A Home for Every Child dashboard, which displays state-level ratios of foster homes to children in foster care. The scoreboard offers a snapshot of states’ foster care capacity and a resource for tracking progress toward ensuring more children have access to safe, stable homes.
The AH4EC initiative also aligns with broader goals shared by Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), including supporting and promoting family stability, encouraging the formation and maintenance of two-parent families, and helping families access services that promote safe, stable home environments. TANF agencies can complement AH4EC efforts by coordinating with child welfare partners and connecting families to economic and supportive services.
