Adolescence and the Transition to Adulthood: Rethinking Public Policy for a New Century

The MacArthur Research Network on Transitions to Adulthood and Public Policy and the Chapin Hall Center for Children at the University of Chicago published this executive summary of a conference held on transitioning to adulthood. While many youth transitioning to adult have support systems to guide them, youth aging out of foster care, youth with mental health issues, and youth in the juvenile justice program can experience a difficult time with transitioning to adulthood. This report summarizes presentations made on support services for transitioning.
