Supportive services often are viewed as the link between case management and work attachment. These services assist TANF participants in overcoming the barriers that prevent them from obtaining meaningful employment. As case managers refer and connect their clients to additional assistance, barriers such as substance abuse, disabilities, and domestic violence are mitigated, affording individuals opportunities that previously may have been unattainable.
