Eligibility
Determining eligibility must be a systematic process to ensure clients are screened adequately for all possible programs. Combined applications for multiple services can help clients receive the most comprehensive assistance. Additionally, programs that serve special populations have successfully implemented streamlined eligibility processes, including kinship care programs (highlighted here are New Jersey, Tennessee, and Colorado's El Paso County programs) for grandparents or other relatives/kin to take care of their relatives' children. The ACCESS Wisconsin and ACCESS Florida programs also demonstrate the importance of implementing efficient eligibility programs.
