How to use the Resource Library

Peer TA’s library includes a variety of Resources/Reports, Question and Answers, and Innovative Programs. You can filter by each one of these types of resources by clicking on the left.

  • Resources include Peer TA and other OFA technical assistance event reports and materials and resources from stakeholders with research on the TANF program and low-income families. We also include research from the Self Sufficiency Research Clearinghouse.
  • Questions and Answers are submitted by TANF stakeholders around the country designed to facilitate the process of information-sharing regarding important topics related to TANF programs and low-income families.
  • Innovative Programs refer to creative methods of administering the TANF program, imaginative ways that services are provided, or new means of helping TANF participants with multiple barriers.  The topic area includes Innovative Programs that have been submitted by other States.

There are two methods to find materials in the Peer TA Library.

  1. Keyword Search
    1. To conduct a keyword search, simply type a title, or keyword into the search box and click on the blue arrow. The number of results and the terms searched will display above the filters on the left hand side of the screen.
  2. Filter Search
    1. Users can also find materials in the Peer TA Library by selecting one filter, or a combination of filters. You can filter the Peer TA Library by topic, subtopic, date, the type of content, geographic area (urban, rural, suburban; ACF region; State/Territory; city/county; Tribe). The number of results and the filter used will display on the top of the left hand navigation bar. If you would like to further refine your search, you can select an additional filter. You can combine as few or as many filters as you would like to search for items in the Peer TA Library.

The National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC), a national resource funded by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Family Assistance (OFA), will host a two-day virtual event, on June 15, 2022 and June 16, 2022, focused on promising practices that create equitable access for all fathers. Workshops will be organized around the topics of Diversity, Reentry, Inclusion, Vision, and Employment (DRIVE) to encourage attendees to Lead the DRIVE to fatherhood excellence.

21st Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS)

Event

The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation will host the 21st Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS) as a virtual event on June 1 to June 3, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. RECS will provide an opportunity to hear the latest findings from evaluations of social welfare programs and policies, discuss ways to incorporate findings into the design and implementation of programs, and develop strategies for future evaluations. The conference will feature presentations and discussions on the following topics:

38th Annual Conference of the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals

Event

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals will host its 38th Annual Conference as a hybrid event from May 16 to May 18, 2022. Participants will learn about best practices and strategies on how the field can reimagine workforce by raising the bar for the skill sets of workforce professionals, looking at how workforce programs are funded, new ways to determine purpose in the communities workforce professionals serve, and creating new workforce partnerships. There is a registration fee for participation.

Forum 2022: Annual Conference of the National Association of Workforce Boards

Event

The National Association of Workforce Boards will hold its annual conference in Washington, D.C. from April 11 to April 14, 2022, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders. Conference sessions include Strategic Solutions Workshops on implementing and influencing policy, diversity, and inclusivity; analyzing labor market data;  aligning and  leveraging board strategies with other resources; aligning education; workforce and human service policies; braided funding; and sustainability planning.

2021 Youth Development Symposium

Event

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals will host its 2021 Youth Development Symposium as a hybrid event (in-person and virtual) from December 6 to December 8, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois. Workforce development professionals who serve youth will have an opportunity to enhance and maintain their skills through continuing education; network with peers, mentors, and leaders; share ideas, experiences, and metrics about promising practices; and discover new and innovative programs, products, and services. There is a registration fee for participation.

Forum 2020: Annual Conference of the National Association of Workforce Boards

Event
The National Association of Workforce Boards will hold its annual conference in Washington, D.C. from March 21 to March 24, 2020. The conference features issue sessions, industry roundtables, workshops, and intensive technical assistance sessions with representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor and other partner Federal agencies. This year’s event will also include discussions of best practices and strategies from participants of the association’s Leadership Academy, as well as plenary sessions covering Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) reauthorization.

Jobs for the Future will host an invite-only event on February 12, 2020 in San Francisco, California on how virtual reality impacts corporate learning and employee performance. Corporate leaders will share stories of immersive learning; discussion will focus on the implications of immersive learning technology in the workplace and demonstrations of immersive learning tools. Space for the event is limited.

Skills Summit 2020

Event
The National Skills Coalition will convene its annual Skills Summit from February 3 to February 5, 2020 in Washington, D.C. The Skills Summit will include networking opportunities with workforce leaders, updates on federal workforce policy from both agency and Capitol Hill perspectives, as well as interactive policy development sessions on the future of work that covers digital literacy, business engagement, and reemployment. Five Years of UpSkill America: What’s Next?

Event
The Aspen Institute will host a half-day session on January 21, 2020 in Washington, D.C. as part of the five-year anniversary celebration of the UpSkill America initiative. Speakers from the business community, policy makers, researchers, and upskilling program graduates will discuss lessons learned from the Upskill America initiative, identify innovative approaches for upskilling, review common challenges to implement upskilling initiatives, and explore the future of this initiative. Registration for this free event is available on the Aspen Institute website.
