The National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC), a national resource funded by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Family Assistance (OFA), will host a two-day virtual event, on June 15, 2022 and June 16, 2022, focused on promising practices that create equitable access for all fathers. Workshops will be organized around the topics of Diversity, Reentry, Inclusion, Vision, and Employment (DRIVE) to encourage attendees to Lead the DRIVE to fatherhood excellence.

The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation will host the 21st Research and Evaluation Conference on Self-Sufficiency (RECS) as a virtual event on June 1 to June 3, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. It will provide participants an opportunity to utilize a 4 A’s approach for transformation: awareness, acknowledgment, action, and accountability. The conference will feature plenary sessions, a panel presentation, and 60-minute Action Labs.

The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals will host its 2021 Youth Development Symposium as a hybrid event (in-person and virtual) from December 6 to December 8, 2021 in Chicago, Illinois. Workforce development professionals who serve youth will have an opportunity to enhance and maintain their skills through continuing education; network with peers, mentors, and leaders; share ideas, experiences, and metrics about promising practices; and discover new and innovative programs, products, and services. The Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin at Madison will host a seminar on February 13, 2020 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. CT to discuss the effect of parental incarceration on families. A faculty member at the University of Wisconsin at Madison will present research exploring risk factors that influence how adults perceive and experience parenting, including attachment, relationship quality, and socioeconomic status. The seminar will also identify mechanisms to promote resiliency in underserved and disadvantaged children.

The Center for Poverty Research, University of California-Davis, will host a live presentation on January 16, 2020 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. PT at the Center’s Sacramento location to discuss a report from the National Academy of Sciences on child poverty.

The Institute for Research on Poverty at the University of Wisconsin at Madison will host a live presentation on December 5, 2019 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET to discuss research findings about the impact of removing children from families under investigation for abuse or neglect. The presentation will cover findings of home removal for young children under the age of 6 and the measurable gains in test scores and reductions in grade repetition for young girls.
