This Urban Institute webinar from November 8, 2019 identifies insights from the U.S. Partnership on Mobility from Poverty on developing a comprehensive definition of mobility from poverty that includes not only economic success, but also increases in power, autonomy, and community presence. The webinar offered opportunities for state and government leaders, philanthropy representatives, and non-profit organizations to provide feedback on these mobility metrics and a prototype dashboard to move the metrics into actionable intelligence.

The web conference introduced participants to CDC’s comprehensive teen dating violence prevention model, Dating Matters: Strategies to Promote Healthy Teen Relationships, and highlighted the latest research evidence displaying the model’s effectiveness in preventing teen dating violence.

Presenters will share tips on what parents can do to create a hopeful future for themselves as a couple and for their child. Topics to be covered include strategies parents can use after finding out that their newborn has a developmental disability, and resources for helping later in their child’s transition to adulthood.

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) will host a webinar on September 19, 2019 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET to identify and build workforce strategies that target underserved populations as part of a large economic development approach for communities. Presentations will be made by representatives from the Institute for Work and the Economy, Mid-America Regional Council, the National Skills Coalition, and the Brighton Center (a social service agency). Registration fees are required for both IEDC members and non-IEDC members.

The REAL Act restores Pell Grant eligibility for incarcerated individuals, so that they can pursue postsecondary education. ASCEND representatives will moderate this webinar, which will feature presentations by representatives from the College and Community Fellowship, Vera Institute of Justice, and New York City Housing Authority.
