A representative from the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services responded that specifically in Alaska, when an individual on the TANF program -- whether adult or youth -- requests or requires childcare to complete daily activities, those needs are requested through DHS but are processed and disbursed through the Childcare Resource Center there, which is believed to be a separate pool of monies allotted specifically for those requests.
