Maryland has a Family Support Center Network throughout the State (19 in the counties and 6 in Baltimore City). These were developed to establish preventive supports for families during the early formative years and to encourage the formation and maintenance of two-parent families. The FSC's are community-based programs that provide services to assist mothers and/or fathers with children age birth to 3. Comprehensive services are provided either on-site or through referral. Services include parenting skills, outreach, peer support and recreational activities, infant and child stimulation, employability and literacy opportunities, health education and referral for services.
