Tips to Implementation: In 20 years of operation, Northwest Youth Corps has learned that while it needs to adapt to change, the fundamental key to its success is awareness of what the program does well and staying true to its original mission and vision.

Keys to Success:

• Emphasis on safety means always evaluating policies.
• Broad spectrum of project sponsors and funders and diversifying funding beyond grants.
• Balancing the use of technology with adhering to what the program does well, which is using hand tools.
• Being clear and concise about the program in all materials, using real photos and participant testimonies.
